Dive Master Course

If you want to make your first steps into the professional world of scuba diving, than is the Divemaster Course, the first level you should take. It is your entry ticket to the scuba diving industry. 

A Divemaster is responsible  for leading and supervising scuba diving activities, as well as assisting instructors with training. 

The Divemaster Course includes both academic and practical components and may be completed in as little as two weeks or up to 8 weeks or even more if you need more time.

Requirements needed to adhere to the Divemaster Course

In order to follow the course, you should have reached the age of 18 years or older. You must have finished successfully the Advanced Open Water Diver Course.

To be in the possession of the Rescue Diver certificate is also a must. You also must have in your possession the certificate of Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) within the past 2 years.

Submission of a medical statement signed by a physician within the past year is also a must. And as last you need to have 40 logged dives to begin the course and 60 logged dives to achieve your Divemaster certificate.

As in any course, the Divemaster Course, has an academic section and a practical section.

During the theoretical part, you will learn how to organize and lead recreational diving activities. You will help instructors in giving training during courses. Next your instructor will explain you anything you need to know in order to conduct different diving programs.

In the practical session you will learn through several workshops everything related to different adventure dives. You will have to set up an Emergency Assistance Plan and to make a project concerning underwater mapping. Another part of the practical session are the stamina. These are different swimming tests you will have to do during the course.

Together with your instructor, you will give briefings to daily divers and guide them underwater.  You will help your instructor when he is conducting a course.

The purpose of the Divemaster Course is to give you an overview and the needed knowledge and skills to become a Divemaster.

While the Divemaster Course is physically demanding, it is also very rewarding, giving you the opportunity to explore the underwater world while helping others to do the same.
