You’ll find Shaab Petra in Hurghada on a sandy bottom of eight meters. On Shaab Petra stand two ergs, some 50 meters apart, that almost reach the surface.
East of the ergs on Shaab Petra there’s a small but magnificent coral formation where you’ll find a beautiful scenery. This formation is covered with sweepers and inside it you’ll find many glassfish. We advice you to go to this part of Shaab Petra first. Also take a look on the sand around this formation where you might find some black vacuum cleaners. There’s also a very small coral block nearby that you don’t want to miss. Here you’ll find many boxershrimp and it’s a cleaning station for, among others, moray eels.
The main ergs at Shaab Petra are covered with hard and soft corals. You’ll find bannerfish, lionfish and scorpionfish here.
