Banana Reef

Banana Reef in Hurghada has, as you guessed already, the shape of a banana and is located at a sandy bottom of 15 meters. This dive site is best dived as a drift dive, but make sure to bring a compass.

Making a drift dive on Banana Reef is the best option because the boats will stop far from the best part. As a drif dive you’ll have a change to see eaglerays and you’ll find an anemone city that is real nice. You will also find big schools of the Red Sea bannerfish on this dive site. Across the corner of Banana Reef you’ll find a nice erg and from there you can dive through the coral garden back to your boat.

On the north-eastern side of Banana Reef you’ll find some shallow caves in the reef wall. On Banana Reef there are many soft corals, fire corals and a colorful underwater life. Also, on this dive site you might have an encounter with a turtle or even a whitetip shark.
